A Day To Reflect On

In July Rick and I went to D.C. One of the places we visited was the Pentagon Memorial. This is the wall that was hit. You can kind of see where the new wall and old wall meet.
This is what the memorial looks like. These winged shaped seats represent each life lost. The names of the victims are inscribed on them and there is water running under each of them. I didn't know quite what to think of it. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Then a young muslim couple came. I wound up taking their picture with their little daughter. Made me wonder what they were thinking.

A few years back, we visited ground zero. I will never forget how I felt being there, seeing nothing but a huge whole in the ground. Leaving a whole in my heart for those who lost their lives in such a horrific way. A day I will never forget.
