Skiing Makes Me Happy

From the highest point at 8860 ft and 1600 vertical feet of the longest run at Beaver Mountain. You can see the road below that I take to get there from Bear Lake.
You can barely see Harry's Dream Lift, the longest lift at Beaver. Click on the picture to see it better.
I am happy to be there on such a beautiful sunny and semi warm day.
The quality of these pictures aren't so good. They were taken from my cell phone.

Bear Lake, Idaho and Utah

Rick and I went skiing today, we ski at Beaver Mtn ski area 44 miles from us on Hwy 89 in Logan Canyon, Utah. This is what it looked like on our drive there this morning.
After skiing we stopped at the Bear Lake overlook. This is the trail from the parking lot to the viewing area.
The brown square thing in front is the top of a trash can.
The lake was spectacular today. Idaho and Utah share about half the lake. I think the best parts are in Utah.
View from the ground.

These are the species of fish found only in Bear Lake.

Wickedly Beautiful Oregon Coast

On our way back from Lincoln City to North Bend, we stopped to take pictures of the Heceta Lighthouse near Florence. This is my favorite lighthouse. We walked up a mile trail in the wind and cold for an upclose look.
Powerful.

Secluded Simpson Beach at Cape Arago. I love this place.

Rick, Kelsey and I flew to North Bend/Coos Bay, Oregon for a week to be with Lea, Jeff, and their girls and Hilary who is attending College there for Christmas. I hadn't seen the twins since last summer. It was great to be there. We had a great Christmas and a very fun time.
