Kelsey And Martin

Kelsey and Martin marriage 11-26-12 101

They did it, Kelsey and Martin got married. They married on the Hawaiian Island of Maui on November 26, 2012.
The location was on the slopes of the mighty Haleakala, a dormant volcano at Kula Botanical Gardens. So beautiful. And they are too.
We couldn’t be happier for them.

Recent California Trip

Me, my sister, and some of my many cousins. I went to Long Beach, California to attend the "family gathering" for my uncle Bob who passed away Nov 2 unexpectedly. My poor dad has lost all 5 of his brothers and has one surviving sister. I was close to my uncle Bob and will sorely miss him. It was a bitter sweet trip.
I spent a day in beautiful La Jolla, near San Diego. It is my favorite beach in California.

Another shot of La Jolla.

I had time to visit my childhood neighborhood. This is a shot looking across the street from two doors down from my house.
The neighborhood looks great. Everyone has updated their homes. It is always fun to go back.
Mr and Mrs Martinez. I lived right next door to them. They are still there from 1958. It was great to visit with them. Wonderful people, they put up with us next door. lol.

Mom and Tom at dinner. We had a very good visit too.

Thanksgiving With The Turkey's

Rick and I had to joy of spending Thanksgiving with Lea, Jeff, and their girls, Madi and Gracie. This was taken just before leaving and I had to have a picture with their new vests and shirts we got them. They are so adorable.

LOVE these turkey's!

It was great to see how happy everyone was to have Gage back.  The girls missed him so bad. And he is loving their new place.

They love their dog.

Front of their house.

Looking from the front of their place. They are renting a house north of Moscow, Idaho. It is surrounded with Ponderosa Pines. So beautiful.

Jeff the mighty hunter.

Ian Gets Baptized!

On September 29, 2012 Michael had the honor of baptizing his first child, (our 1st grandchild) Ian who turned 8 a few weeks ago. It's amazing how fast Ian has grown up. We are so proud of him.
Cordie and Michael's beautiful family, William, Ian, and Olivia.
Our oldest daughter Cordie, and her big boy, Ian.
What a wonderful experience this was. This is a picture of some of Michael's family and me, Rick, and Kelsey.

Sister Hilary Hendricks-Missionary

Hilary is loving her time at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo. Hilary knows she made the right decision and she is so thankful to be serving a mission. She's learning the Korean language rapidly and  having the best experiences. She said she's never known such joy. She is already being assigned to teach the new missionaries coming in. And she's only been there just under a month. She feels the strength of the Lord and knows He is in charge of His church. This is another testament of the Lord's love for all His children. His gospel is moving quickly throughout the world.
We get an email from her every Tuesday. She is scheduled to be leaving for Korea the first of December. She is pictured in the middle with her two companions who are also going to Korea.

My Missionary Daughter

Just before Hilary left her sister Cordie took these pictures of her at the Logan, Ut Temple

Hilary is my baby.

Hilary makes a beautiful missionary.

We had a get together and luncheon with family and friends at the house last Sunday for Hilary's Farewell.  She had several friends that had to travel a long way to be here to listen to her speak at church that morning. The week before she had a couple of friends come stay with us from Astoria, Oregon so they could see her before she left.

Showing their silly side. These two boys she met while they were on their mission in Coos Bay, Oregon, while Hilary was attending college there.

Good bye hug.
Hilary's college roommate Erica and their friend.

Posing in front of the Provo Temple just before dropping Hilary off at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Ut, Wednesday, 19, 2012.  It was a bitter sweet moment on such a beautiful day.
We won't see her until we pick her up in Deajeon, Korea in 18 months. I'm already missing her terribly. It was harder than I thought it would be. But we are so proud of such a devoted and upstanding daughter so worthy of serving the Lord. She will be a wonderful ambassador for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints.

The Whole Family

The whole family was here for Hilary's Farewell. She entered the Missionary Training Center September 19, 2012. She will be serving in the Deajeon Korean mission for 18 months. It is a miracle that my dad was here too, he gave us a scare less than two months ago. We certainly didn't think he would be able to walk again let alone drive to Idaho from California.

My sister Karen was also able to make it here too, but she was taking all the family pictures.
Martin, Kelsey, Lea, Jeff, Hilary, Jennifer, Rick, Michael holding Will, Cordie, and my dad, Don.
In front: Madi, Gracie, Olivia, and Ian.

Thanks Karen for taking the family pictures. It was actually just a quick impromptu to do it. We took them at our son-in-law Michael's parents house. Thanks to them too.
My girls; Hilary, Kelsey, Lea, and Cordie

I can't think of anything that's much better than the grand kids. I'm so proud of them.
