Temple Square

The Salt Lake Temple is one of the most spectacular church buildings. It took 40 years to complete and it is made from Utah's granite. As a child I was fascinated with it. I'm still in awe of it. Cordie and Mike were married in this temple and I've had the wonderful opportunity to enter into it several times, including yesterday with Rick. It is a very powerful and sacred place to experience. It's so beautiful. The flowers are incredible. I enjoyed taking lots of pictures.
"This is the place" monument with Brigham Young.

On the back of this monument honoring the Mormon pioneers who first entered the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, are the names of those first pioneers. Including my great-great-grandfather, Charles Shumway, and his son Andrew. This monument was unveiled on July 24,1897. At that time both Charles and Andrew were living. Charles had been a body guard to Joseph Smith.

FOUR!

A fun day on the golf course with friend and co-worker Colette.
One of my best shots of the day. Over 150 yard drive on the green.
Colette having way too much fun pulling her cart.
Quiet Please.
What a shot!

Yes, I was really proud of that shot. I can't wait to go again. It felt great to be on the course again after two years of not playing.

Faculty Photo

Our last day of school is May 28. I'm looking forward to the summer break with family, friends, travel, and hopefully some good weather. So far we haven't had a lot of that. Tomorrow it's supposed to snow. My dog is confused, he doesn't know whether to shed his winter coat or keep it.

Beautiful Grandchildren

Ian

Olivia

Madi

Gracie

We haven't seen Ian and Olivia since December. And we haven't seen Madi and Gracie since last October. We miss them so much. Thank goodness for the web cam. Soon Cordie, Mike, Ian, and Olivia will be here for a visit. And in June, Kelsey and I get to see Madi, Gracie, Lea, and Jeff when we'll go to Oregon to help Hilary drive back home from College.
